Install the Expert Advisor (MT5 & MT4)

The one-time terminal setup, step by step for both platforms, using the switch names you will actually see in the EA.

Installing the Expert Advisor is a one-time job per terminal, and it is the same five steps on MT5 and MT4 — only the folder and file names differ. Both versions are below; use the one for your terminal.

The EA is the only thing added to your terminal. There is no DLL, so you are not asking your broker or prop firm to allow imports they normally refuse, and we never hold your broker password.

Before you start

You need two things from the app, both on Broker Connection → Connect with MT5 / MT4:

the EA file — the Download EA file button on the Install the EA tab
your account's EA token — Copy EA token on that account's card (Accounts tab)

MT5

Put the file where MT5 looks for experts. In MT5: File → Open Data Folder → MQL5 → Experts. Copy EAConnector_MT5.ex5 into that folder. Back in MT5, open the Navigator (Ctrl+N), right-click Expert Advisors → Refresh.
Allow the EA to reach our server. Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL → add https://hook.nixoratrade.com → OK. The Install tab has a Copy button for this exact URL.
Attach it to a chart. Open any chart, drag EAConnector_MT5 onto it. On the Inputs tab, paste your token into Your machine token. Leave Manual orders: place real trades and Auto Signals: place real trades off for the first run. On the Common tab tick Allow Algo Trading → OK.
Turn algo trading on. Click the Algo Trading toolbar button so it turns green. In Toolbox → Experts you will see poll … queue empty — the EA is connected, and the EA status in the app turns green.
Test before trading. Place a manual order from the app. With both switches off the EA logs DRY-RUN and places nothing. When that looks right, turn on Manual orders: place real trades (and, for alerts, Auto Signals: place real trades). On a real-money account you also need Allow trading on a real account — see Sending messages to Nixora.

MT4

MT4 ships as one download — the MT4 Connector — containing the Expert Advisor and the small nxws.dll module it uses for its live data channel. Install both; the EA still works if the module cannot start, but it needs to be there.

Download it. In the app, open Broker Connection → Connect with MT4 → Install the EA and click Download MT4 Connector. You get NixoraTrade-MT4.zip. Unzip it.
Copy the MQL4 folder in. In MT4: File → Open Data Folder. Drag the MQL4 folder from the zip into that window and let it merge with the one already there. That puts NixoraTrade_MT4.ex4 in MQL4\Experts and nxws.dll in MQL4\Libraries.
Allow the EA to reach our server, and to load the module. Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL → add https://hook.nixoratrade.com → also tick Allow DLL imports → OK.
Restart MT4. It picks up the new files on start. In the Navigator (Ctrl+N) you should now see NixoraTrade_MT4 under Expert Advisors.
Attach it to ONE chart. Drag NixoraTrade_MT4 onto a single chart — one chart only, and not alongside the older HTTP-only connector. On the Inputs tab paste your token into Your machine token (copy from the app); leave both place real trades switches off for the first run. On the Common tab tick Allow live trading → OK.

Turn AutoTrading on. Click the AutoTrading toolbar button so it turns green. The Experts tab should show something like:

and the EA status in the app turns green.

Test before trading. Same as MT5: a manual order logs DRY-RUN while the switches are off; turn them on when the plumbing looks right. A real-money account additionally needs Allow trading on a real account.

If the line says Live data channel unavailable — using standard connection, nothing is wrong: the connector could not open its live channel and is working over the normal connection instead.

If the EA seems to do nothing

Nothing in the Experts tab at all — the Algo Trading / AutoTrading button is off, or Allow Algo Trading was not ticked on the Common tab.
"WebRequest not allowed" in the log — step 2 was skipped, or the URL was mistyped. It must be the exact URL, including https://.
Polls, but orders never place — the place real trades switch for that source is still off, or the account is real-money and Allow trading on a real account is off. That is the design, not a fault.
You updated the EA file and nothing changed — the terminal keeps the old version running until you remove and re-attach the EA, or restart the terminal.
